Top 10 Gin drinks

Gin is a lovely thing. It’s very tasty and can be used for a huge variety of cocktail and drink recipes.

Most prefer to mix it with tonic (you know, the G&T – nice!), some prefer Schweppes lemonade (uhm!). Others prefer to mix it with “snaps” (the Danish spirit made from potatoes, not that awful, synthetic “schnapps” that comes in every fake flavour possible).

Here we have collected a set of 10 exceptionally great drinks based on gin. Please give them a try and share your experience and own recipes in the comments below.

Cucumber Yum-Yum

Tom Collins

  • 4 cl Gin
  • 2 cl freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Soda water and maybe some sugar depending on taste

White Lady

  • 1 part Gin
  • 1 part Cointreau (or other triple sec – don’t go Grand Marnier style)
  • 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice

How to mix

  1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice cubes/crushed ice and shake well.
  2. Pour through a strainer and serve in a highball- og rocks-style glass.

Red Eric

  • 2 cl. Geranium Gin
  • 2 cl. Red Aalborg aquavit
  • 3 cl. elderberry juice
  • 6 cl. Schweppes Ginger Ale
  • Ginger

Negroni:

  • 2 cl Campari
  • 2 cl Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 cl London dry gin

Manhatten:

  • 4 cl Whiskey
  • 2 cl Vermouth
  • 0,5 cl Angostura bitter

Gin Hass

  • 2-4 cl Gin
  • 2 cl Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 cl Mango syrup (Monin or similar)

The Last Word

  • 2 cl Chartreuse
  • 2 cl gin
  • 2 cl Maraschino liqueur
  • 2 cl lime juice

How to mix

  1. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass.
  2. No garnish.

Gin og tonic

  • 2-4 cl Gin
  • Top up with Tonic

Singapore Ginsling

  • 2 cl Cherry Heering
  • 6 cl gin
  • 1 dash angostura bitter
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 2 cl orange juice
  • Fizzy water
  • Ice cubes

How to mix

  1. Fill a shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Except fizzy water, add all ingredients to the shaker and shale well thoroughly.
  3. Pour into at highball glass through a strainer and top up with fizzy water.
